Your Trip to The Wakeboard Camp

So you signed up for The Wakeboard Camp...what's next? Well, this page should be a helpful guide to get most of the info you will need to know about your stay here at The Wakeboard Camp in Clermont, FL.

Your Trip
Our normal week package is from Sunday to the following Saturday with riding starting on Monday morning. You will ride Monday through Friday and then leave on Saturday [check out a sample day at TWC]. If you can't make it for a week please contact us us for more details and availability. We are able to accommodate single lessons, day lessons and other packages depending on availability and time of year.
Where to fly to
Book your airline tickets into Orlando International Airport (MCO). Please try to arrive on Sunday afternoon so that you can get checked in and situated before dinner at 6:30 pm. There are other airports in the area, but they are further away from the camp and we are not aware of a shuttle service that can bring you to the camp. If you will be arriving late on Sunday or need to arrive on the Saturday before, please let us know.
Arrival
When you arrive to the camp head upstairs to the office so you can get checked in. The office is upstairs near the kitchen through the recreation room. Follow the yellow arrows painted on the cement around the building and on the floor or just ask someone. You will find one of our office managers there and they will get you signed in and help you get your balance paid. You will then be shown to your room and given a tour of the premises. If you arrive after 8pm in the off season, there may not be somebody in the office, so check the white board just inside the front door for further instruction.
What you should bring
We have sheets, blankets, and a towel for you at the camp. You may want to bring extra towels, a shower kit, soap, and all other bathroom necessities. During our winter months (November - April) water and air temperatures may require a wetsuit. This is the only piece of equipment we don't have to demo at the camp. It's a more personalized piece of equipment and is hard to supply for many different sized people [check out the equipment we do have at the camp]. You may also want to pack sweatshirts and warm clothes if you are attending during our winter months so you can change into warm clothing after each set. Last and most importantly, don't forget your sunscreen. The Florida sun can burn you quickly!
Spending money
We have bottled water and Monster drinks for sale on premises. We also have a pro shop on site where we sell Wakeboard Camp and Liquid Force T-shirts, hats, windbreakers, hooded sweatshirts, posters and DVDs. On Thursday afternoon you have the option to take a trip to the Orlando Watersports Complex (OWC) to ride the cable and visit the world-renowned wakeboard shop Performance Ski & Surf. As a camper you will receive discounts on goods from the shop, so you may want to bring spending money to accommodate any purchases. The Thursday afternoon cable riding session costs an additional $35. Remember, this is just an option and there will be coaches at the camp ready to pull you wakeboarding if you decide you don't want to participate in the OWC trip [check out our rails and ramps to get the scoop on this part of our program].
Equipment
We have a complete line of demo boards, bindings, wakeskates, wakesurf boards, vests and ropes from Liquid Force at the camp. All of our equipment is always free to demo [check out our equipment at the camp]. If you are thinking about buying a new board, bindings, or accessories, this is a great way to try before you buy. If you find something you like at the camp, Performance Ski & Surf is sure to have it and will make you a great deal. If you decide to purchase something from the shop but don't want to travel with a lot of money you can set up a store credit using your credit card. Please contact Performance Ski & Surf at 407-859-7544.
Departure
Our check out time is 12:00 pm on Saturday for cleaning purposes. If your flight or ride is later that day, feel free to hang out until you are picked up. You just need to be packed and out of your room so we can turn over the camp for next week's students. Don't forget to grab Wakeboard Camp stickers and some free copies of Alliance and Wakeboarding Magazines. You can also buy one of our official posters and have all of your favorite coaches and team riders sign it. Don't forget to exchange contact info with your new friends before you leave for the week. Be sure to add us as a friend on Facebook.
