Sample Day at The Wakeboard Camp

This is a typical day here at The Wakeboard Camp...

8:00 AM Wake up
Wake up to the ringing bell. Roll out of bed, rub your eyes and notice the miles of glassy calm water just steps away from your room.
8:30 AM Enjoy a killer breakfast
Enjoy a killer breakfast. Each day is different. One day you'll get eggs, another french toast, another pancakes. Sides include sausage, bacon, toast, fruit and cereal. Our cooks will have everything prepared for you. All you have to do is eat it.
8:50 AM Pick out a board and bindings
Visit one of our professional coaches, in this case, Kyle Schmidt, and pick your gear from our huge demo fleet of brand new Liquid Force boards and bindings. Or if you have your own board, grab it and walk down to the lake.
9:00 AM Hop into one of our Malibu boats
Hop into one of our Malibu boats and argue over who will ride first. Moan a little because you just lost at paper, rock, scissors and get ready to ride.
9:15 AM Take a set
Get big air, crash a few times, and just generally have fun riding in the best conditions that you have ever seen. Then, listen as our coaches start shelling out pointers that will help you land all kinds of tricks.
9:30 AM Watch and learn
Get back into the boat and watch as everyone else makes the exact same mistakes that you just made. This is a big part of the learning process, so pay attention.
12:30 PM Grab some lunch
Hop out of the boats, walk up to the camp and grab some lunch. Today is sandwich day. Other lunches include taco Tuesday and meatball subs. Always served with a fresh salad of course.
1:00 PM Watch the pros or just relax
Get into a boat and watch one of our coaches or team riders take a set. You won't want to miss this. These guys are unreal. You may catch Ben Greenwood or Amber Wing taking a set as well as any of the coaches and kitchen staff tearing it up.
2:20 PM Head back down to the lake
Head back down to the lake. (Did you really need a description?)
2:30 PM Take another set
Take another set or two depending on how many sets you took in the morning. Then watch the others ride.
6:00 PM Return from riding
Return from riding. Either head in and clean up for dinner or grab a seat on the boat and watch one of our coaches or team riders tear it up.
6:30 PM Dinner time
Grab yourself some dinner. You will get a different home cooked meal every night. Don't worry about cleaning up afterwords. We'll take care of that for you. All you have to do is show up and shovel the food into your mouth.
7:30 PM Evening Activites Begin
The evenings are pretty mellow at the camp and you have some options...
  • Since you will be doing a lot of riding this week, you might be tired. This is your chance to relax, recoup, stretch and hang out upstairs in our rec room. After you catch up on some emails and update your FaceBook wall with all your riding accomplishments from the day, challenge someone to a game of ping-pong, foosball or billiards. If you want to get pumped up for riding tomorrow, check out a wakeboard vid or watch some FuelTV. Just don't hog the Guitar Hero!
  • If relaxing isn't your idea of a good time and you have a rental car or your own transportation, head out on the town. Orlando is only 30 minutes away and you can check out all the area attractions, night life or head down to Perfomance Ski and Surf to check out some gear.
  • If Orlando seems like a bit of a hike, head over to the local cinema to catch the newest 3D movie at Epic Theaters.
  • If you are short of transportation or want to stay close, head across the street to catch the game at Lakeside Grill and Sports Bar or Brickhouse Pub.
You must be 18 years or older to leave the camp supervision and property. Or, you must have an off-premise release form signed by your legal guardian if you are under 18 years of age.
