Huge congratulations to Hayley Smith for achieving the Australian Rider of the Year award! You can see Hayley ride this spring and summer right here at The Wakeboard Camp.
She’s been going huge and learning all kinds of crazy stuff on her new Ronix board. Yew!!!
Recently, our own Bob Sichel spent a little time updating his towable box. He made it super streamlined, lighter weight, and changed the color scheme, all new for 2010!
So he hit the lake with our friends Kevin Henshaw and Danny Harf to test out the new setup. Kevin and Danny had some great hits on it for their first run with the box. Each of them had a pretty scary near painful experience. Bob, being the expert of his own design, showed the possibilities of what can be done with some plywood and a bunch of 2×4′s floating on a big old tube. Check out the video below that was captured by Alliance’s Patrick Wieland.
The ladies of The Wakeboard Camp have been hard at work during the US off season. Things down under have been nice and hot, and Amber Wing, Hayley Smith, and Bec Gange have all been riding well.
Amber took top honors at the Australian Pro Am with Hayley finishing second and Bec rounding off the podium in third. The girls are doing a lot of free riding this year so look for them to be bringing some new wake maneuvers back to the US for the 2010 summer season!
What’s up young riders? Check out what The Wakeboard Camp team rider, the one and only Mr. Ben Greenwood has been up to this winter. Footage courtesy of Trevor Hansen.
Hey fellow riders! Here at The Wakeboard Camp, we had a pretty cold holiday season. That seems to be well out of the way. Over the past week, the water temperature has risen 15 degrees Fahrenheit (about 6 degrees Celsius) from 50 to 65 (10 to 16). It’s going to be hot over the weekend and stay up in the 70′s (20′s) for a while in late January/early February.
