Those of you who have come to the camp know Bob from being coached by him, seeing him spin and flip into the lofty atmosphere behind one of the camp Malibus, or even from dining and enjoying his delicious culinary creations. If you haven’t yet met the 2012 cover rider, you can easily fix that by visiting us at The Wakeboard Camp!

TWC continues to impress the Iowa crew! The coaches are amazing; thorough, patient and very down to earth. TWC has the highest quality of instruction and has been truly instrumental not only in the improvement of our riding but improvement of our overall knowledge base of all that is wakeboarding. As well, it has provided us the ability to now coach other friends as we introduce them to the sport. Thank you so much for everything. Steve says keep the bar next door stocked, we will be back!

Many people are too nervous to come here to the camp. Some people tend to think that everybody at the camp is at a pro level and that they will be laughed at for trying to do something new like ride outside of the wake. Kristin talks about how our system helps everybody learn at every level. Here is an excerpt:

I was nervous, like anyone can be, learning something new– especially along side the other campers who were there to learn tricks like the Backside 360, 540, Scarecrow, Tantrum… none of which I had a clue much less would I dream of learning. In spite of the butterflies in my stomach, I was determined to learn how to wakeboard more confidently.

We went out for our first ride, and our second, and third and in the blink of an eye the five days had passed and we had ridden a total of 15 sets (more than I’d typically ride in one summer)! Gone were the butterflies and my skills and confidence quadrupled.
It was on the trip home that I realized how much my experience mirrored elements of the ideal learning experience. Here are some thoughts on what made it ideal.

Every year the main attraction is for the Best Trick award, with the whole wakeboarding community waiting to see what the boys have landed that will leave us all mind blown! This year there was  taken out by Eric Ruck, with a mute back mobe into a step up pool. Though our favorite was our very own Robert Sichel who kept secret from us here at TWC his latest crazy move, a Double Indy Tantrum! Bob has worked really hard trying to land this trick, leaving him with stitches over his face and also what at first looked like a broken face.  His dedication definitely paid off!
