It’s Warming Up

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Hey fellow riders! Here at The Wakeboard Camp, we had a pretty cold holiday season. That seems to be well out of the way. Over the past week, the water temperature has risen 15 degrees Fahrenheit (about 6 degrees Celsius) from 50 to 65 (10 to 16). It’s going to be hot over the weekend and stay up in the 70′s (20′s) for a while in late January/early February.

So take this chance to get out of your cold weather and join us in tropical Florida! Click here to book your trip to ride with us!

Alliance 2010 Gear Guide Board Test

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Have you got the 2010 Gear Guide issue of Alliance yet? You know that chunk of totally radical breakdowns of how each board behaves on the water behind the boat, on the cable, and on rails? Well the boat portion was conducted right here at The Wakeboard Camp!

You can watch a quick little video and see how it all went down on that cold wintry (by Floridian standards) day. Riders included Chad Lowe, Nick Whitt, Derek Cook, and the mysterious Agent Orange. A lot of time was spent out on the lake that day. Hopefully it helps you get that perfect setup for this year’s shredding!

Obscura Demo Day January 17

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

It’s a new year and we’re starting things off right with a winter wakeskate demo day. Obscura wakeskates will be hosting a big old day of riding and eating free stuff right here at The Wakeboard Camp this coming Sunday, January 17, 2010.

The event will run from 10am to 4pm. Come ride all the 2010 Obscura gear with the guys whose names are on the boards! Aaron Reed, Danny Hampson, James Balzer, Travis Doran, and Kyle Hyams will be here to show you the way. We don’t want you going hungry while you’re here, so Monster energy drinks and Chipotlé burritos will be handed out free of charge to all who are here. That’s right, free food, drinks, and all the pro wakeskaters you can handle!

Check it out on Obscura’s site here. Plan your weekend around coming out to Clermont! See ya here!

Have You Searched for Bob?

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Bob SichelAlliance Wake just released the results for the most searched wakeboarders of 2009. Second on the list, only to the legend Parks Bonifay, is The Wakeboard Camp’s own Bob Sichel. Nice work on getting searched a whole bunch of times Bob!

Bob recently signed on with Company along with the fourth top searched rider, Randall Harris. The other riders on the list are also friends of the camp: Robby Jacques and Aaron Rathy.

Nice work getting out there and pushing the sport guys! Check out the article here.
